Periodically I will use movement education to enhance the goals of a Rolfing session.
We come into this world with the potential to move organically and fluidly.
Over time, due to perhaps injury, learned habits, and emotional trauma(s) movement which was once functional for us can instead become limiting and constricted. The way in which we move, and consequently hold ourselves, is usually unconscious.
With movement education work, we dialogue with a very deep part of your nervous system. In this way, change is long lasting and expresses more of your body’s innate wisdom, rather than another overlay of how you “should” move.
Consequently, long held patterns are let go, allowing a more organic, freer and fluid way of moving to emerge.
